FIDO'S FOOD BIN, an absolutely amazing pet supply store, has an extremely loyal following for miles around. I stopped by today to say "Hello" and Liz immediately asked, "Is it time already?" (I collect wonderful donations from the community stores to distribute to the returning Survivors during their celebration dinner at the Relay For Life each year in May. - They always contribute!)
I told her "No," and went on to explain that I was just at the Village Market, and thought I would stop in. A gal walked in with her dog, and asked for a Valentine treat for her dog, and -- this next part amazed me! Liz told her that she didn't have what the gal wanted, but she could find it upstairs in the Village Market, and then told her exactly where to go in the store to find it! She then went on to explain that the treats at the Market were very natural and clean (no antibiotics, chemicals of any kind..) as their things at Fido's were. I am sure that this gal was about to become a CLIENT FOR LIFE, and also would tell all of her friends about this find.
As I looked around, I realized what they were referring to..... there were no brands that the average person is used to seeing. All were natural, and free of all chemicals, etc. There were bags and cans of food from WELLNESS, BLUE BUFFALO, EVO, and MERRICK. All looked so healthy, so I had to ask about it all. Skip stepped in and explained that they screen all the foods to make sure that they are from farms that are organic, and free of the chemicals, and even check that the factories are clean and do not add anything.
Blue Buffalo is a local company that is extremely conscientious about how their foods are produced. In addition, they donate a lot to the cure for cancer in animals with every sale.
I asked what is their "MOST POPULAR ITEM? -What do folks drive far to get?"" I was so surprised to have Skip jump in immediately with, "OUR PRICES!" He went on to explain that their prices are lower than Petco and Petsmart on most of their products, and that folks came from far to buy from them. They have been in town for 13 years, so that speaks to the fact that they have a huge local clientele with the local homeowners.
They are an extremely customer oriented store, also. Everyone is greeted by name as they come in.... The WOW FACTOR!!!!
So, I had to write something after all of that.... go check them out - I don't even have pets anymore... and I love going in..
Giving to Relay For Life, local churches' silent auctions, school sports fundraisers, etc. They sure give back!
Oh! I forgot to tell you! They are Cancer Surviviors themselves!
